Tumblers were the first item I focused on in making consistent size and shape.  I also enjoyed doing them in the beginning because they don't have handles which can be finicky and tedious as a new potter.  They're also nice to fill with a warm drink and wrap your hands around on a cold day, or chill in the fridge prior to serving and enjoy your favourite cold drink.
